Ocean dog food: your dog is asking for the sea

Our dogs improve our lives every day, and our obligation is to care for them and pamper them as the wonderful beings they are. At Ocean we have this clear and that’s why we have created a brand that contributes to making the world a better place, full of happy dogs.

Driven by our love for animals, we have found in the oceans the source of the finest nutrients so that we can improve the feeding and health of our best friends. This without forgetting about the planet, our home, so that we are working with sustainability in everything we do as we are all responsible to the mother earth.

The oceans as a food source

As we have said, our concept of food for dogs is based on marine proteins, fish, shellfish and algae. It is a fairly novel idea, but we have discovered that fish is as healthy for dogs as it is for us and, also, they love it. For example, in Canada’s virgin lands there are wolf packs that have been feeding on fish for thousands of years.

It has been shown that a diet based on marine protein prevents cardiovascular problems and improves the immune system, so important to keep our dogs healthy and full of energy.

The high content in omega-3 has very beneficial effects for our dogs, improves their skin and coat, has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect on their joints and on the gastrointestinal system, and reduces symptoms in cases of allergies. It also stimulates the nervous system, strengthens neuronal development, prevents degeneration in the cognitive function and reduces wear on the joints with its high content in cartilage. In short, in its nature there is all that is needed for healthy food and, also, they love it.

Ocean dog foods combine marine protein from fish and shellfish with marine algae, without colorants or artificial flavour enhancers. They contain no transgenic ingredients or gluten.

We have five food varieties, based on the names of the oceans and seas from which we extract the raw materials.

Ocean Mediterranean

This recipe is made with sea bass and sea bream, two fish abounding in Mediterranean waters, very flavoursome, easy to digest, and quite light.

White fish provides our dogs with large quantities of potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, sodium and zinc, which help to strengthen their bones and are good for the nervous system and muscular activity. Omega-3 and omega-6 together with B group vitamins are essential in preventing cardiovascular problems.

This is a food low in fats, ideal for light diets.

Ocean Atlantic

The main component is salmon, one of the most valuable fish with its high content in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and its high quality protein. It also provides minerals such as selenium, magnesium and calcium and vitamins B6, B12, A and D, beneficial to the immune system, heart, circulation system and lungs. Salmon also contains tryptophan, an amino acid which encourages the production of melatonin and serotonin, essentials in regulating mental welfare and the sleep cycle.

This variety also contains krill, which provides a large quantity of iodine, necessary in regulating the metabolism. With great nutritional value, low fat content and high content in vitamins B3, B12, D, E and K, it helps to improve the health of our dogs’ claws and coat.

An endless list of properties makes this recipe a healthy and tasty option.

Ocean Cantabrian

One of the components here is the anchovy, a great source of protein of high biological value and rich in omega-3 fatty acids. It also has a high content in vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as group B, and essential minerals such as potassium, iron, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium, which encourage intestinal transit and the functions of muscles and nerves, also reducing the risk of suffering cardiovascular diseases and reinforcing the immune system.

Another of its components is albacore, a very rich blue fish with a high content in omega-3 fatty acids and very high levels of vitamins B3, B6 and B12 and minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, selenium, magnesium, iron and iodine.  With its high concentration of liposoluble vitamins A and D, it helps in the repair of tissues such as the skin and mucous membranes and strengthens the bones.

A very rich source of health within our reach.

Ocean Pacific

This recipe contains anchoveta, which has a high concentration in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, very beneficial to arterial health and to keep cholesterol and the triglycerides at bay. It provides calcium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc and vitamins A and C. It also prevents troubles in the nervous system and circulation.

Also it includes squid, which provides valuable minerals such as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and zinc. It is a source of high quality proteins with a low fat content.

The combination of anchoveta and squid in Ocean Pacific is an infallible recipe, balanced and light.

Ocean Arctic

This recipe is composed of krill, a small crustacean that lives in Antarctic waters and constitutes a large part of the aquatic population. It contains protein of the highest quality in a proportion that no other food achieves, in addition to omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, improving the levels of good HDL cholesterol in the blood and, therefore, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.

We combine it with a selection of Nordic fish which, being accustomed to cold water and a lack of sunlight, have high concentrations of vitamin D. Thus they reinforce the immune system in seasons with less sunlight. Also it contains beneficial fats to combat the lower temperatures.

Ocean Arctic is ideal for diets that need an extra content in calories.
